About
pix36 is a flashback to the days of film cameras when rolls of film needed to be purchased. They generally came in 24 or 36 exposures, although other sizes were historically available, such as 12 or 20 exposures. There was always a finite number of photos that could be taken before switching to a new roll of film. Similarly, here, once 36 photos are posted, some will be deleted to make space for new ones—highlighting impermanence.
The limited number of photos per roll, along with the uncertainty of which shots will turn out, also represents the impermanence of life’s moments—some images may be lost to mistakes or accidents, while others become cherished keepsakes.
One thing that is certain here is that you will not find a mind-numbing, endless scroll. The idea of impermanence inspires our feed.
