It's About Impermanence
What's here today may not be so tomorrow.

lilac.jpg

Patiently waited for this white lilac bush to bloom with its sweet fragrance; now, all of a sudden, it is starting to play out.

gateless-gate.jpg

A gateless gate is an interesting discovery. Although there is a physical gate and no fence, it's still gateless. Do you casually note it, take a quick picture, and move on? Or maybe walk through it. Or perhaps pause and give yourself some space to truly experience the moment?

Discovered in eastern Oregon above Wallowa Lake near Joseph.

If you are in the area, a fun thing to do is to cross the border into Boquillas, Mexico, from Big Bend National Park. This is a pedestrian border crossing only. To cross the Rio Grande into Mexico, there is a rowboat ferry service available for a nominal fee. Several transportation options are available for hire, including riding on donkeys or in the back of pickup trucks to access the village from the river landing. Personal experience has found it an easy to walk to the village.

prada.jpg

Situated on U.S. Route 90 in Jeff Davis County, Texas, Prada Marfa is a permanent sculpture installation by artists Elmgreen & Dragset. It is roughly 26 miles northwest of Marfa and 1.4 miles northwest of Valentine. On October 1, 2005, the installation's official opening was held at a Prada storefront that functioned as a freestanding structure.

Hope you have your shopping list.

wires-2.jpg

Some wires here need to be sorted out. During development in a local environment, all worked. But now live there are a couple of issues needing attention. Maybe the hawk has suggestions.

dragon-fly.jpg

A dragonfly also referred to as a meadowhawk. Its wings seem to glisten in the sun.

The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.

Impermanence.

mural.jpeg

This mural, once viewed from the main thoroughfare, is now hidden by the new building next door. It can still partially be seen by looking carefully from the rear parking lot. Progress.

serviceberry.jpg

Serviceberry trees, also known as juneberries, are deciduous trees or shrubs found throughout the Northern Hemisphere. They produce beautiful white blossoms in the spring, which give rise to flavorful, red to purple-black, berrylike fruits in the summer. These fruits can be eaten raw or cooked in pies and are relished by both songbirds and people.

Technology is a word that describes something that doesn’t work yet.

So True! Especially in this case.

Wall of a house made with glass bottles imbedded.

How come the song "99 Bottles of Beer on the Wall" comes to mind?

Tom Kelly's Bottle House, built in 1906 using over 50,000 glass bottles, is perhaps most notable buildings in Rhyolite, NV.
